paintshop X6 cannot read images

So far this program was working OK. Suddendly this program becomes unusable. I cannot add pictures to my X6 data base. The pictures are correctly loaded in required folder in windows. X6 does not recognized them. Another problem the cloner does not work: I click to set the cloner, Then I displace the brush. When I move the brush to copy, the brush move but the circle stay in place:no copy. I have reloaded X6 twice without success from my copy. I wanted to reload the software from my Corel account: I did not find the place where my programs are available (It used to be available, is Corel cancelled this feature?).
What shall I do? Forget about the program for the next year or so????

X6 does not work with a database with respect to accessing your files. There are databases but they work behind the scenes. To access files go to Manage and select the Navigator. If you select Computer you see the directory tree that you would see in explorer. Go to the directory you want and you can select the individual files in Organizer. Can also select files from organizer (and use Navigator) in Edit or, heavens forbid, Adjust. You can also put folders in the Collections for easier navigation.

Describe the steps you are taking if this does not work for you so we can get an idea of what you mean that X6 does not recognize the pictures.

Check the settings in the tool properties palette. Is the opacity where you want it? There is a box labelled "aligned mode". If that is checked the source selector moves with the paint circle. If not, each time a stroke is finished the source selector moves back to the same spot until you move it to a new one with a right-click.

Occasionally when I start to use clone (also with other tools) the tool moves but nothing happens for a long time. If this happens I shut down the program, restart it and usually it then works normally.

Have you tried selecting Help/my account? It takes you to the Corel site where the serial numbers for the products you have registered are stored.

Well all problems are solved. I have no idea how it got solved. Here is what I did: I reloaded PSP X5 and X6 both had the clone problem, only X6 did not update the catalogs files. I gave up and close both PSP. Later I reopened both. Surprise the clone tool work as it should in both PSP. The catalog update was not working on X6. Then I remove catalog entries, in doing so I noticed than after recataloging an entrie the entrie was updated correctly. Then I deleted and recatalog my major entrie where I store all my pictures. It works! I can now update this entrie with new pictures coming from another program.
