Keeps crashing
Keeps crashing
I bought ASP and installed and everything ran as it should with no crashes etc.
Now it keeps crashing even after uninstalling and reinstalling it keeps crashing and not responding.
It is so slow and unresponsive to scanning for files even when cpu is at 50%
I have registered and updated all the latest patches, the last patch removed the ASP icon on my desktop.
I have a very quick computer and it is actually very stable with other programs.
How can I get ASP working again?
I feel I have wasted £55 and I have past the refund policy.

Re: Keeps crashing
Uninstalling will not change any of your user settings which is what triggers crashes. I still don't understand why people do that. After all, te installation itself did not change suddenly just for fun.
Rule one when crashes occur is to nuke the cache.
If it still occurs, then the log file might help.

How do I create a log file? I held down shift to clear the cache which worked for the album it was scanning but when I click other albums it takes ages to start scanning. Even when there are only 5 images in the file. I am trying to scan through the file system/directory view.afx wrote:

I use a program called picasa and that whizzes through my entire hard drive, even the USB hard drive showing all my raw files. I just have to keep the finger pressed on the down arrow and it is like lightning fast.
Aftershot pro is ridiculously slow.
It looks the part with a workable interface but I wouldn't recommend it.

Look in your user folder (See help menu) for the cache folder and the log file.

Re: Keeps crashing
Spent 45 minutes looking in all the folders, in my hard copy book and online. Couldn't find a way to create a log file as there are none. All I could do is create a system info file.afx wrote:Look in your user folder (See help menu) for the cache folder and the log file.

I am starting to think it was the plugins from the corel website.
As it appears I can't create a log file how would I remove/uninstall the plugins as I added all the suggested ones and when I uninstall ASP then reinstall the plugins come back.
ASP just crashed again while trying to do a simple auto adjust.

And it tells you where you user folder is in the generated information. The 8th line of the system info.jazon wrote:Spent 45 minutes looking in all the folders, in my hard copy book and online. I tried to upload and it says-
The image file you tried to attach is invalid.
So I saved it to my desktop and again it says invalid. Yet I can open it in all my programs, gimp, painter, irfanview.

Re: Keeps crashing
It is probably too large to upload so some file sharing site is needed if you do not have your won webserver.
Something is strange with this file. Can you run exiftool on on it?
exiftool -g0 -D IMGP0363.jpg and attach the output here?
cheers

I tried exiftool 9.47 where you drop the file onto the exe file which creates exif data but there are no options to copy and add here so I used Opanda IExif 2.3 for the result above.afx wrote:That looks weird, not like a real exiftool dump.

Please use the commandline as shown in my post above.
Then it is rather easy to redirect the output to a file like in
output.txt can be easily attached...
Other tools do not deliver complete dumps.

There is no way to save using the tool I used so I did a screen grab.
