PaintShop PRO x6 failed instalation

Post by matchbox1330 »

This copy of PaintShop Pro has been damaged or illegally Modified.

I have checked the Protexis Licensing services and they are running and are set to automatic.
I have tries to uninstall X6 PRO and It will not uninstall, it will get most of the way and then stop, no errors.

How can this be corrected?

The best way is to roll back your computer to the System Restore Point you set before installing the program.

Thank you Joelle for the suggestion but that was actually the very first I tried, with no success. :(

Have solved the problem and here is how
It was very simple but never gave it a thought until today after spending many hours trying many things.
Did the uninstall using control panel and cleaning many Corel related items out of the registry with no success trying to reinstall.
Today I Checked C:\programs\data and there was a great number of folders and files related to PSP X6 and previous PSP versions
I deleted every file and folder that had any relation to the word Corel.
Up to this point every time I tried an install would get message YOUR SYSTEM HAS NOT BEEN MODIFIED TRY AN INSTALL AT A LATER TIME.
Put the Corel PSP X6 CD disk in the drive and installed without a hitch then downloaded sp1 and everything is working like a charm. :D

Phew, that's a relief.
The files belonging to previous versions of PSP should (hah!) not interfere with X6, but if it worked that's all that counts, well done :-)
