A Key Error

Post by pl1 »

I just installed MF4 and when I launch it, I get a tiny warning dialog box that says "A Key error".

No choice but OK or Cancel.

After selecting either, the program seems to resume, but I just can't get it to import any video files.

Any ideas? What is this key error?

Is there a user's manual for MF4?

I would contact ulead technical support about that error.

If you downloaded the program maybe another download wouldn't hurt.
The first download could be corrupted. That has happened before.

A Key error means the program is not installed properly. Sometimes happens when the program is been hacked, or not installed properly.

You need to contact Ulead to get another proper download or request for an install CD, if you have paid for it.

Hope this helps.

You can get stuff like that happening if you have your virus scanner or firewall running at installation. These may prevent certain registry keys to be properly set.

I would uninstall, remove any registry keys pertaining to ULEAD, delete the program folder from the hard disk, stop firewall and virus scanner and re-install.

Let's see how that goes.
