Tool Help

Post by mabynack »

I recently upgraded from Paintshop Pro x4 to x6 and I can't locate the "Erase" tool. It seems like a stupid question, but where is it? I have the tools displayed on the left side of the screen, but there is no erase tool. All of the help files I've read say it should be there, but it's not. I've looked in all the tool drop downs and still can't find it.

My erase tool is between the lighten/darken icon and the flood fill icon (which makes it the 11th icon down from the top--if you have the toolbar on the side.) If it is missing, try right clicking on the tools toolbar, select customize, select toolbars, highlight tools, then click reset. It should be there then. Good luck.
Adverts for Corel products when you close PSP don't bother me.

It could be that your Background Eraser is on top. The Eraser and Background Eraser are nested and share the same spot on the toolbar. If you click on the little white triangle (see where red arrow is pointing in image below) it will show you the other tool.

Thanks. Resetting the toolbar did the trick. I'm not sure how I managed to loose the erase tool. I just got the program and this was the first time I tried to use it.
