X2 crash rendering to FLV

Post by amcleod »

Rendering causes CPU crash at 1%. Tried repair - no solution. Tried de-installation and re-installation twice - no solution. Installed patch VSX2PROPATCH.EXE - no solution. Checked that both primary and both secondary IDE channels are set for DMA already. Increased paging size to 6500MB (twice available RAM of 3.25 GB) - no solution. Reluctant to upgrade from x2 if it will not work again. I have tried using source video from one external drive with a mass of space and writing to the same external drive (and also tried writing to another external drive with a mass of space) - no solution. The programme has always rendered fine rendering from and to one single external drive. Thoughts? TY., Angus

Hi Angus

You seem to have covered most things, what version of Flash Player are you using.?

Update to the latest version to see if that improves things.

If it has worked in the past, what has changed on your pc?

Just a footnote on this: there would be no point in any case in upgrading to X6 if you are specifically after .flv as the output format. That format was dropped in X6 and replaced by the WebM (.webm) format developed by Google to be the general replacement for flash output. See http://www.webmproject.org/

Hi Trevor!

Many thanks for your reply....

I did not have Adobe Flash at all but now installing v 12. Only change recently was the installation of EverNote software which was facilitated on my private machine by the University for me.. no issues seen to date, unless this IS related?!

I have loaded Adobe Flash 12 successfully and again tried to use VideoStudio but it freezes at 1% as now usual...

If I take VS2 off and take a trial of the latest version, is there any chance it would work??? Many thanks,

Angus

The trial version is X6, it may work, but the only way is to try it.

For X6 Flash has been changed to WebM video so possibly would work?

I still have no idea why this is happening but would think a conflict on your pc?

There is no reason to uninstall VS 12, the trial will install as a separate program.

PS what does Evernote do??

Trevor,
Thanks for the tip... I shall try as I do need to render some video and am stumped right now...
Evernote is a programme for cataloguing quotes and reference details from academic, published papers (for research). I have a feeling it is this that is in conflict... I hope this will not affect x6. Thanks for your help,
Angus

Hi

If it is the Evernote program that is causing the problem is it running in the background?
If so are you able to close the program till you need to use it?
