Hi everyone.
I'm using the trial versions of VideoStudio 9 and DVD workshop right now.
I've used a purchased version 7 and a trial of 8 of VS without any trouble at all.
Why I'm having trouble with is:
I've just purchased a HP Pavilion a645c machine
Athlon 3200 XP
1Gb DDR RAM
200G HD
My problem is that in both of these software, I do not hear sound when playing "CLIP".
In Video Studio, I hear the sound fine if I go in "PROJECT".
The videos play fine in other softwares, and when I produced a DVD from files captured and modified in these software, I do have sound on my DVDs.
I just can't get sound when playing the "CLIP" mode in both softwares.
I have updated all drivers, installed every CODECS that I could find. But nothing worked so far.
NOTE: I did have trouble installing the softwares at first, so I reformated the machine with the HP recovery. COuld it be a HP software conflict? If yes, why would it play in "PROJECT" mode but not in "CLIP"
And yes, I've tried new and older videos.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me!!!

Might be some limitations in the trial version.
What is the codec and properties of the video file you are working on?
I guess purchased version does not have problems like this provided that the video and audio codec are supported by the Ulead software.
If the file is MOV file from Kodak cameras, I'm afraid Ulead software is not compatible with this one.

The file I have right now is
audio is set at
LPCM Audio
attributes: 48000Hz, 16 bit, Stereo
but I have files that were mpg audio
Projects is:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Lower Field First
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
but like I said, I do have audio in my final rendered files, and I hear audio if I play as a "PROJECT", I don't hear the audio in "CLIP"
In my old computer, I could hear the audio no problem even with the trial versions.
