Script.dll problem - PSPX6 freezing on re download.

I have aproblem with PSPX6 I am hoping someone can help me solve.
I have been unable to open PSPX6 via the icon on the desk top for several days but have opened it OK by using the drop down menu off the icon, so haven’t been particularly bothered.
Today when I tried to open up I had a message saying “ a problem had been encountered” and I needed to re-down load programme from my supplier. I realise now I should have taken more notice of the actual wording, but I just wanted to get on with the download. I can’t remember there being anything else in the box to indicate what the problem was.
After starting the download from Corel it was 16% through when it froze and eventually produced the following message:

Selecting Retry or Ignore brings up message “ SetupXML.dll “

I also tried down loading a trial version of PSPX6 from Corel site and received the same experience and message on installing.

I am not technical enough to know what this means, but it suggests to me it may be a problem within my computer. I also did a system restore
after trying to download, but for some unknow reason it didn’t work and I was advised nothing was corrected.
I can follow instruction reasonably well and would like to correct this myself [as a learning experience as well as a financial one]
If anyone has any suggestions or advice I would be pleased to hear it.

If you have not already done so, uninstall the original installation of PSPX6. I assume you already did, but want to make sure, as this next step could make things harder if it is still installed on your system.

Next go to C:\Users\Eliean\App Data\local\Temp\

AppData is a hidden folder, so it's best to just paste that folder address into the File Explorer address bar. Or you can un-hide hidden folders and find it that way.

Anyway, delete the Corel PaintShop Pro X6 folder.

Then, making sure to run the setup as administrator see if that works. Because the setup error you show is trying to either write or read a particular file, and either the file doesn't exist, or it's locked by some other program, or the setup doesn't have the permissions it needs to overwrite that file. Best to just get rid of it and start fresh. See if that helps.

Thank you for your input - I'm pretty sure there is nothing relating to PSPX6. left on my PC but will check

I also tried to reinstall Jasc PSP9 just to have something on the PC i can use, [plus its a brilliant little progamme']
but that didn't work either.

It does sound to me as though there are .dll's misssing
