I tried searching for an answer for this but I can't seem to find one or perhaps I didn't search correctly.
I got a new HD and installed a New copy of PSP X6 and first time using this. Now I used to use an very old version of PSP, the Old PaintShop Pro 7....yeah I know many, many years ago, but I don't do much with it except to preview images and perhaps resize them or crop and resize them to make them into simple desktop Wallpaper. I know next to nothing else on what to do with images.
At any rate I did figure out how to set the new PSP X6 so it looks like the old one but when I use the mouse wheel to scroll down through the images in Thumbnail Mode it acts strangely. When I attempt to scroll down the images move down but then it shoots right back up to the top row and this happens almost no matter how slowly I move the mouse wheel down or how fast I move it down. But here's what even weirder, when I use the scroll bar on the side it works fine and when I am at the bottom of the listed images and I want to scroll back up using the mouse wheel it works fine.
So Scrolling down with the mouse wheel doesn't seem to work while scrolling back up through the images in Thumbnail Mode works as it should.
Images are in the C drive and the Mouse is Microsoft InteliPoint,
To be most specific it is listed in the Device Mgr as Microsoft USB Confort Optical Mouse 3000 (InteliPoint) And that's the same as it says on the bottom of the mouse.
I have 2 of them and I switched them out and it still does the same thing. I have an older XP Machine, and so I snatched it from there to text with.
Anyone remember the song "Help me Ronda" ?
Well "Help me Scroll, Help Scroll, Scroll" ......
PSPx6, New HD, Thumbnail Mode Mouse Scroll doesn't work

Re: PSPx6, New HD, Thumbnail Mode Mouse Scroll doesn't work
I have just tested on XP machine and PSP X6.
I went to Manage mode and went to a folder with probably 200 images and then worked through the thumbnails. I clicked on the scroll bar slider on the right and dragged it down a bit , then used the mouse scroll wheel to move up and down through the thumbnails without any probems.
I did have a problem with a mouse some years ago when its mouse wheel seemed to be non functioning or acting randomly.
I bought a new mouse a Logitek G400 gaming mouse with three buttons that allowed me to change the sensitivity of the scrolling action with a couple of clicks. That worked perfectly. Switched back to the Microsoft mouse and the problem reappeared.
I would suggest that since the same problem occurred with the same brand of mouse that you try with a new mouse of a different brand. It may also be that new drivers may be required for your microsoft mouse, but I could not be bothered searching around as I needed a backup mouse anyway. Since then I have stayed away from the microsoft mouse.

Re: PSPx6, New HD, Thumbnail Mode Mouse Scroll doesn't work
Perhaps I need to clarify things a bit as it seems you didn't get what I said.
Installed New Hard Drive on PC, installed Windows 7 and then installed PSP X6.
Mouse driver is current and up to date. It matches what it says on the bottom of the mouse. The only reason I switched them was to test it.
Mouse worked fine before and doesn't have any problems with any other programs.
Perhaps PSP X6 has a problem with this type of mouse?

I've the same strange behaviour. Using a Microsoft Wheel Mouse with standard settings. THe wheel works fine with any software since installation a few month ago. Only with PSP 6 I turn the wheel the preview pictures scroll down and jump back up again.

Re: PSPx6, New HD, Thumbnail Mode Mouse Scroll doesn't work
Hi Bellsouth,
In my case the Microsoft mouse worked fine on all programs , then it stopped functioning on PSP and this was before X6 . I suspect this may have been due to an update to windows. I changed to the Logitek Gaming mouse and have not looked back.
Have just used a Microsoft Optical mouse in X6 (32 bit and 64 bit) on laptop with windows 7 and all works fine. Mine is X6 13.0.0.113 (no SP1 or hotfix)
Dieter59 admits to having the same problem, and the common denominator is the Microsoft mouse and PSP X6 .
