Hi,
I often capture screen-images into PSP, edit the image (mainly copies parts of the image), then I paste this image into Word or Outlook.
The image then gets very blurry. If I paste the image into MS Paint first, then copy from MS Paint into Word/Outlook the image is as sharp as the original.
I can also paste the image into other non-Office-applications and the image is fine. It seems it's the combination og PSP and Office that is the problem.
I have searched on Google and found that many have experienced the same problem, but there seems to be no definite solution, at least not that I have found.
What I have tried without any luck is to turn off image compression in Office, and looked into the sizing but no matter what options I have tried the image still appears very blurry.
Any ideas how to solve this other than going via an other program or saving to file, then inserting the image from file (wich is too cumbersome)?
I am currently using version X6 but had the same problem in X4.

How do you paste, Ctrl+V or Paste Special?
I came across an Office 2010 forum ( http://www.microsoftoffice2010forums.co ... /blurry-im ) where the last post mentions that pasting as Bitmap or Device Independent Bitmap works for him.
Worth trying anyway. If it doesn't work, good luck finding an answer.

Ive never worked with office but can't you set the dpi somewhere?
If you scale it without increasing the dpi you get a low resolution image.

Re: Blurry pictures when pasted into MS Office
Only thing that I have found that works is to use Paste Special--> Bitmap
I think that this is a Corel issue, since when pasting from other programs (e.g. Irfranview) into Office, no issues with blurry pictures, which seems to be a result of pasting as a Windows metafile.
It would be nice if Corel would address this, so that metafile is not the format is passed to the clipboard.
Or, give the user the option to change this.
Would be nice if the admin would comment on this....

Re: Blurry pictures when pasted into MS Office
Tried to test this with word 2000. Started with an image 2000 x 1333 pixels and 300 dpi
Did each of the following
1. Loaded in Irfanview. Edit Copy. In Word did Edit > Paste.
2. Word Insert > browsed to folder and selected image to paste as Picture
3. Loaded into PSP X6 Edit > Copy. In Word Edit > Paste
4. From PSP X6 Edit > Copy . In Paint Edit > Paste then Edit Copy . Back to Word Edit > Paste
Result: All images same size in Word and no apparent difference in Quality.
The problem may be that a screen capture is very reduced in quality to start with being approx 72 - 96 pixels p inch.
Your image would need to be at least 1 1/2 screens wide to have any quality in word.
The landscape image in Word appeared to be about 6 inches wide.
If I start with a PSP image that is 600 pixels wide and paste that into word the image appears about 2 inches wide.
If I click the image in word and try and make it larger it becomes blurry as one would expect since I started with only 600 pixels wide.

Re: Blurry pictures when pasted into MS Office
I can reproduce this with Word 2010 and PSP X6.
I can also reproduce it with Word 2010 and PSP 9.
One of the links above in the thread said it didn't happen in Word 2007 but does in 2010, so that's probably why the poster above couldn't reproduce it with Word 2000.
So If I really wanted to assign blame, I guess I would put it on MS for breaking something that has worked for a decade or so at least. Then again, this is an inherent problem of using a clipboard. If you save a file, you know exactly what is being transferred, but when you use the clipboard, the sending program is expected to put multiple/many formats onto the clipboard and the receiving side chooses one of those to use. Apparently nothing has changed on the sending side, but people think Word did better on the receiving side prior to Word 2010. On the plus side, Word's paste special function continues to allow you to pick other formats - some of which display sharp images.

Re: Blurry pictures when pasted into MS Office
By the way, years ago I used to copy the text from long threads on a financial forum into Word so I could print them much more efficiently and cleanly than I could by printing the web forum in the browser. But occasionally I would slip up and just ctrl-V (recreating the whole paper-inefficient formatting) instead of paste special unformatted text. So after awhile, I created a Word macro that just did paste special unformatted text and I assigned it to the ctrl-V key. You might consider something similar.

Re: Blurry pictures when pasted into MS Office
Several years have gone by, and issue has improved, but is still not fixed. Improvement suggests that Corel has attempted to address it, but not with complete success.
Now using Corel X7 SP3 and Office 365 with Outlook and Word.
My most common action is copying image from X7 and pasting into an Outlook email, which uses Word as editor.
When I do a paste via clipboard, image is slightly blurry (this is improved from X4 where image was very blurry)
If I open image in Irfranview and do a paste via clipboard image is fine.
Not sure what difference is between X7 and Irfranview as to what is sent to clipboard, but would be nice to be able to paste an image directly from X7 into Office without encountering blurring.
