I have just installed the local help files for PSP X6, but the program still uses the on-line version. Is there anything further I need to do?
Tks

Re: Local help files
Disconnect from the internet. For some reason the default is to obtain the fles from the net rather than locally first.
Ideally it should check that the files are not available locally before going via the internet.

Thanks for that. A rather strange arrangement.

Re: Local help files
On the other hand, if there are any changes to the help files, those changes can be made in the Online help long before they (ever) get downloaded - always up to date. That's Corel's excuse anyway, I personally think getting people to the website is a more logical reason.hartpaul wrote:Ideally it should check that the files are not available locally before going via the internet.
@bobsegrave,
In Windows 7 the help files for PSP X4 are located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X4\Languages\EN\Help\wwhelp\wwhimpl\js\html\wwhelp.htm".
- It should be something like that in X6 too, maybe something in the 64-bit, but you should be able to find it.
- \EN\ is the language I chose for PSP. Change it if you're using another language.
- You could bookmark this file in your browser and/or make a shortcut on your desktop.
LeviFiction answered this question some time ago, and posted a cool tutorial on making a script to open the local help from PSP itself, and adding a menu item to do it:

Have fun

Thanks for that. I eventually located the file:

Re: Local help files
That is the line which appears when the Help files open in the browser but when I put the line in manually the page does not open; it sticks on loading.
