VS-9 Error when burning

Post by ARJRER »

Hi, I just tried to burn my 1st DVD using VS-9. I have burned many others using VS-8.
I got everything all set and when I hit the burn button, I got a 4101 error code. Can someone tell me what this means and is there a way to correct this problem?

I did have Norton Utilities shut off and I was disconnected from the internet as well as shutting down any other unnecessary programs, so these wouldn't interfer with VS-9.

Any help is appriciatted.

The sticky Procedure post at the top lists the kind of info we need to begin to diagnose your problem. It also describes a procedure that will help avoid problems at the DVD burn stage. What procedure were you following?

John,
What sticky procedure are you referring to that I didn't include in my original post? I received a "Convert Steps Got Some Problems" (4101)
I have both VS-8 and VS-9 installed on my computer and i am still getting the error even though it seemed to correct the problem at this link.

I also did the following to my computer system before runng the burn process to "Create a Disc"

I did have Norton Utilities shut off and I was disconnected from the internet as well as shutting down any other unnecessary programs, so these wouldn't interfer with VS-9.

The post which John refers to as a 'sticky' is an announcement at the top of the forum and can be found here :-

you really only need to read the first post by John but you may learn something if you read the rest.
