Can anyone help, I am using version 1 and do not get the prompt to select either CD or DVD, the default seems to be CD and thus I cannot burn to DVD.

There are actually some versions of PictureShow that does not have the capability to burn DVDs. PictureShow 1 for example, some SE versions of PictureShow 2 and 3 and the Disney version of PictureShow as well do not support DVD authoring.
