email picx

Post by Mal28 »

In Corel PaintShop Pro X6 I cannot e mail pics, I get a message thatsays no email program is associated with PaintShop,

Support advised me to :
C"orel PaintShop Pro's email function works on system's assigned default program for email. To change this assigned email program, please open the Internet option in Control Panel or select this in Internet Explorer's Tools menu. Then, under Programs tab, select your desired email program. "

This did not work

I went to the control panel and the only e mail program was Microsoft mail, which I set as default, still get the same message,
I use Windows 8.1 and IE11

Any help would be appreciated
Thank you

Here's what the Corel Help File says on this subject:

E-mail application
  • To send items using e-mail, you must connect to the Internet and your computer must have a default e-mail application that supports the MAPI Standard (such as Microsoft Outlook) and be configured to use the MAPI e-mail client.
Does your Microsoft mail support that MAPI Standard? An as such can it be configured to use the MAPI e-mail client? I'm using Win7 and I can see I CAN set MM as a MAPI. Could be you need to do that too? In Win7 it appears as the NEXT option in setting the parameters for it. If you can, and I'm rather suspecting you'd need to reboot the PC, you should get the MAIL option appearing in the window that I have - I use GMAIL so . . poof!.

Well, there's a thing . . . I made Windows Mail my DEFAULT emailer and selected the EMAPI thing and rebooting X6 I was then offered to send an email of the OPEN selected piccie. So, on early evidence based results this could be your way forward.

Me? I'm gonna keepo using GMAIL and drag and plop piccies to that. But, who knows, you may just have tugged my chain enough to explore further. BTW, GOOGLE's Chrome - also not used - is MAPI comppliant and HAS the option to click the EMAPI option too. . . . .
