X6 Ultimate. "Manage" "Adjust" "Edit" tabs. Pics disappear.

I just installed X6 Ultimate. Both 32 bit and 64 along side X4. When I click one a pic X6 opens up and the pic appears. The "Edit" tab is highlighted. I'm assuming by default. When I click on the "Adjust" or "Manage" tab the pic disappears. Even if I go back and select the "Edit" tab, the pic is gone. X4 doesn't do that. I always have that pic open if I select any one of those tabs. What's going on?

When I open an image folder on the desktop and drag that image onto the workspace, it appears there in Edit mode. ( You said "When I click one a pic X6 opens up and the pic appears." this is unclear, do you mean double click (left click) OR Right click and open with ).
That image in the edit mode is one I have selected to appear there from another location / folder.
If I switch to Adjust / Manage tabs, the image changes to one selected from the Organiser . (I have not set up any trays or collections, so this is the default operation) . When I go back to the Edit mode the image there has been lost and replaced by the current one visible from the organiser. This same feature occurs in X4 and X6, so at least for me there is no difference.
If you select a picture from the organiser in Edit mode and then switch to manage / Adjust modes and then back to Edit mode, then that image will be maintained.

Double clicking a pic on my desktop opens X6 and it appears in "Edit" mode. UPDATE: IF I then click on the "Manage" tab the pic does not appear there. When I try clicking back to the "edit" tab it's still there, but if I click on the "Adjust " tab it's gone. Going back to the "Edit" tab after clicking on "Adjust" makes the pic disappear.
Why isn't my pic being displayed in the Manage and Adjust tab?
Also, why does selecting the Adjust tab make the pic disappear under the Edit tab?
X4 always shows the pic under all 3 tabs.

In my case the image selected to appear in Edit mode disappeare when I switch to Manage or Adjust mode in X4 . I lose it when I select any of the other modes.
In X6 with an image there, when I switch to Manage mode an image becomes selected there fro the organiser and when I switch back to Edit mode that image is carried into the Edit mode and I now have 2 image there. Using Adjust mode the original image disappears.

You cannot carry an image from your edit mode to your manage mode. The usual procedure is Manage . Edit, OR Adjust > Edit, OR Manage > Adjust > Edit.
Both manage and Adjust modes select their images from the Organiser or collection trays.

What are you trying to do that is causing you problems. Why do you want to take an image from teh Edit mode and use that in Manage or Adjust. (I have only used Manage and Adjust modes to duplicate problems that others have had and seek a solution. All my work is done in Edit miode which is the more advanced mode.

If you want your image to be able to show in all three modes then you must place it in a folder which is then viewed from the Organiser. Then it will appear no matter which mode you select.

In Preferences/General Preferences/Default Launch Workspace you select the mode in which X6 opens. If you have ticked Edit or Keep Last View and had been in Edit when you closed the program, it will launch in Edit when you double click on an image. From your description I assume that you have .jpg association set for X6 and that you double click on the image in explorer.

In X6 you use Navigator to select a directory from which you wish to work on images. Organizer then shows the thumbs of the images in the directory selected in Navigator. This is true for all three modes, Edit, Adjust, Manage.

Say that in Explorer you select and click on an image in directory "Sunsets" and let's say the last time you used Navigator you had selected directory "Beaches". X6 will open in Edit (see first paragraph) with the image you had chosen from "Sunsets". Now go to Navigator and see which directory is selected there - it will be "Beaches". As X6 opens from a double click it doesn't give a fig for the source of the image selected by double clicking.

If you now go to Manage or Adjust, what is selected and displayed there will be the first image in the directory selected in Navigator. If you now go from Manage back to Edit X6 will open that first image in the directory in addition to the original double-clicked one.

You are not alone being frustrated by this. I posted a message last September http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=51527 but didn't get much of a satisfactory answer.

I've decided to create 2 of my own toolbars and have docked them so that the Manage and Adjust tabs are hidden. I then set PSP Default Launch Workspace to Edit.
