File in use ... when it's not ... in VSX6
I'm trying to open a work file, but every time I click on it, I get a response saying the file is already open. But it's not. I have tried several other work files as a cross-check and all of them come up with the same "already open" message. Any clues as to what's going on. This just started.

What happens when you reboot your computer and start the program afresh? What are the properties and source of the files?

What exactly do you mean by a "work" file - what format are they - are they on a main server in a workplace - have you copied them from a network in your office ? - please explain your reference to "Work" files

Another possibility is for example, some application crashes with the subject file. Often, some threads remain with that file open. This can be fixed with Task Manager by stopping the problematic thread, or by restarting Windows... Al
