Unspecified error and runtime error

Post by chriswillis1981 »

Good afternoon all,

Firstly im sorry to go straight in with a request for help but i have run out of ideas. I actually paid my £12.00 for the extended warranty but i keep getting an error telling me the support code or email address does not match so im a bit stumped. So i was hoping somebody in here may be able to assist.

I have just created a story board with various video clips and wanted to render them as an MPEG-4 unfortunately when i try and do this it only gets as far as 1% and then i get the following errors:

The program has encountered and unexpected errorand has stopped functioning, please contact corel and send the dump file (cant do the latter as i explained above)

Runtime error - Corel/Corel Video Pro X6/VSTUDIO.EXE Abnormal program termination.

Im using prox6
Windows 7 on my pc

I have tried the following after searching the net

Updated my pc
Re-installed the program

Has anyone any other ideas?

Hi Chris

Can you tell us what video clips you are using - where did they come from - what are their properties

please RIGHT click on the first video clip and select "Properties" from the pop out - then copy those properties (screenshot) and post them as an attachment to your next post.

Have you added any audio clips - what types of audio have you used.

What settings are you using to render as an mp4

Hi, thanks for the reply.

The clips are taken with bandicam and they are clips of an online game.

Please find the properties attached.

The only audio used is the audio already attached to the clips.

I'm trying to save it as MPEG-4 AVC (1920 X 1080) I have also tried lowering the settings but that does not work.

Thanks,

Hmmmm - I don't think VideoStudio is happy with the MP2 audio

Can you play the clips in VideoStudio - do you get any errors just playing the project in VS

I would try creating a .wav file of the soundtrack (Share >> Create sound file) - then muting the audio of each video clip and putting the new .wav file in the audio track and then trying to render again.

I am becoming more convinced the sound is the source of your problem - you need to find a programme which will change the format of the sound file - is there an editor recommended by the makers for the bandicam videos

What format should the sound file be in?

And how can i amend the sound part of a video clip without amending the video clips itself?

The acceptable audio inputs for VideoStudio are :-
Corel wrote:Supported input formats*

Video: AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, AVCHD™, MPEG-4, H.264, BDMV, DV, HDV, DivX, QuickTime, RealVideo, Windows Media Format, MOD (JVC MOD File Format), M2TS, M2T, TOD, 3GPP, 3GPP2
Audio: Dolby Digital Stereo, Dolby Digital 5.1, MP3, MPA, WAV, QuickTime, Windows Media Audio, Ogg Vorbis
Images: BMP, CLP, CUR, EPS, FAX, FPX, GIF, ICO, IFF, IMG, J2K, JP2, JPC, JPG, PCD, PCT, PCX, PIC, PNG, PSD, PSPImage, PXR, RAS, RAW, SCT, SHG, TGA, TIF, UFO, UFP, WMF
Disc: DVD, Video CD (VCD), Super Video CD (SVCD)

If you can find a programme which accepts video with MP2 sound then you just re-save it with Dolby Digital for instance - *IF* VideoStudio accepted MP2 you would just then save it with Dolby Digital

I find it a little strange that it won't accept mp2 audio -- that is if mp2 is just a contraction for mpeg-1 (or -2) layer 2 audio (and I understand it is). The latter is the audio format -- the only format -- for HDV video. And remember that mpeg layer 2 audio was also one of the acceptable formats for PAL DVDs not so long ago (though for some reason NTSC DVD players had trouble with it...) VS has no trouble with mpeg layer 2 format audio from HDV.

Right this is what i have done.

Recorded 4 video clips using bandicam and selected the option to record the audio as a seperate .wav file.

I went into VS and placed the 4 video clips and muted there sound, i then tried to add the .wav files in the audio section and it says ''The content of these files is un-readable'' but looking at the .wav files that bandicam saved, they are actuallu .avi.wav files??? ive never heard of such a thing

Success.

I have converted the .wav files that bandicam save to MP3 files and they have rendered perfectly.

Thanks all for your help

Now i've got them to render, how do i get rid of the black border each side of the clips and make them fit to screen? Ive tried using the fit to screen option in settings but that does not change it, i've also set the clips to widescreen 16:9

Hi Chris

The original files show as 1024 x 768, a quick calculation shows these as 4:3 ratio not 16:9
You will have black borders left and right.
You can remove these by distorting the frame to 16:9, if you retain the proportions yu will loose some detail top and bottom.

From the top track double click a clip then choose the attributes tab, tick “Distort Clip”
Right click the screen and choose Fit to Screen, will stretch horizontally.
RC and Keep Aspect Ratio, will retain the proportions

RC the timeline clip and Copy Attributes
Shift + Click to select adjacent clips, select all, RC to Paste Attributes.

Screen Capture

Set the capture area to use 1024 x 576, that is 16:9

Have you tried using X6 Screen Capture module, records to WMV.?

Quick Guide, a little old but still relevant.
