Sony A7 RAW files
The RAW files from my Sony A7 do not look right when opened in PSP 5. Very hazy and magenta cast. How do I find out if these are supported and if they are not, if they ever will be?

Did you open the files using Camera RAW Lab? You can select this RAW converter under Preferences/File Format Preferences.
I've experimented opening RAW files without the RAW Lab and found the results were not very good, although there was a discussion here in which someone felt the RAW Lab did not add much. I think the RAW Lab is not great although the results can be passable.
I shoot RAW all the time and do initial processing and conversion to jpgs using Corel AfterShot Pro. I think it does a very good job for the price and I follow-up in PSP when I want further effects.
I'm not sure how to check which RAW formats PSP supports - does the fact you can open a RAW file in PSP indicate it recognizes the format? I notice that if in edit you use menu/open to open a file there is a box for details - in my case it identifies the file as a RAW file and the camera manufacturer. See if yours shows up.

Re: Sony A7 RAW files
I can open the files but the image is very washed out and has a magenta cast. PSP seems to recognize the files but doesn't process them correctly. I can't correct enough to bring the images to anything near normal. I don't have this problem at all with files from my Sony DSC RX100 (another newer camera but not nearly as new as the Sony A7). The JPEG output from the A7 looks fine (I usually shoot RAW+JPEG). Also when I use my iPad to open the RAW files from the A7 they look pretty normal although they have a magenta cast in the shadows. I may contact Sony about this or see if someone else has posted anything about this issue.
