1) Obviously when editing you split your video into many pieces/clips. BUT when you separate audio and even move it to a separate layer and try to delete one clip you delete its audio track/clip. I presume just because it's got the same name.
2) Keeping everything in sync especially when using two cameras and want to montage things and especially when using transition effects is a nightmare!
Why for example if you have clips of the same file you can't just drag and overlap them to create transition effect? So how on earth having audio separate I can cut video and inser transition effect? The Video obviously because of the overlapping is getting shorter but the audio track stays as it should. How do I control it professional way. Well, the software has PRO in its name. I can't see the PRO in the software.
3) Is there any proper introduction video somewhere to see all the features and how to use them. Maybe starting from navigating and scrolling because if you have a clip any longer than 5min and you want to edit it it is a nightmare. You have a choice of either jumping like crazy to God knows where moving the bottom slider or moving sllllooowww using the tiny arrows/triangles.
Is there any way to just move the timeline like with HAND CURSOR in any graphic software (like with pressing space bar in some Adobe products?)? IF not why not?
4) Also, how do I cut through all the tracks? OBVIOUSLY when editing something you have audio tracks and video tracks or overlay tracks. How do I cut through all of them to remove certain 10 secs completely. Or maybe there is any usefull! select tool that I could use to just press delete or cut through all the tracks.
5) Also, WHy for example I can't delete audio clips so everything after that gets shifted to fill the gap. Having all those sync problems I applied transiton effect and decided I will cut the 2 secs from the audio to adjust audio to the video BUT it does not shift locked or unlocked, no, I have to somehow select all the audio track with all audio clips that are after that and shift manually to drag it towards begining filling the 2sec gap.
Do you guys don't have problems like this or there is only little bunch of people that use it at all.
(Just downloaded trial of Vegas platinum. Within 20 sec I can see massive improvement with intuitive user interface. I know you can't possibly do some latest tricks from VideoStudio BUT: I can see I can freely move the timeline with little hand cursor without 'fighting' with buttons and scrollers. The Play preview is INSTANT without 2sec delay. There is also preview of frames almost throughout the clip so you can see where are particular scenes.
Seriously Corel. Drop the PRO from the name. It does not deserve it. And if you aiming high and packing some new fancy features, just rewind and start with basic usability.

Re: Frustration, problems and lack of obvious features
If you go to Share > Create Audio Clip, you can create a real and separate audio file (in one of 4 possible formats), plus give it its own name. If you merely separate the audio and put it on a separate track, it remains part of the original video clip as the separation is only virtual, not real. That is why the audio disappears if you delete the original video clip. (In fact, just separating the audio track only mutes the audio in the original video. The audio remains part of the original, and disappears when the video does.) The way I suggest avoids that.1) Obviously when editing you split your video into many pieces/clips. BUT when you separate audio and even move it to a separate layer and try to delete one clip you delete its audio track/clip. I presume just because it's got the same name.
In fact I don't find using the "bottom slider" all that slow or inaccurate. But more often I use the white cursor located in the duration metre directly above the main timeline. If you put the mouse cursor on it and left click and hold, you can drag it along the timeline at whatever speed you want ... just like a hand!Maybe starting from navigating and scrolling because if you have a clip any longer than 5min and you want to edit it it is a nightmare. NO. Probably because we try to understand the processes that X6 goes through. You perceive certain "failings" because you don't understand these processes.
Judging by the number of third party tutorial sites available VideoStudio is a very popular editor and is used extensively. Why don't you look at http://www.gripps.net/tutorials.html and start with X4. The basics have not changed from X4 to X6.
I like X6, it does everything I want but it took a bit of time to learn the processes. Now everything seems so obvious!
Don't you think rants are so boring?

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Re: Frustration, problems and lack of obvious features
Hi
Most of your issues seem to be because you have split audio.
Do you need to do that?
Keeping the video and audio as one file would retain the audio sync.
