I lost my Windows 7 system disk, and reinstalled on a new disk. I have reinstalled PSP X6, but I really want to restore all those favorite user preferences/settings.
Corel does not let us bring settings over from version to version, but surely I can restore my X6 settings to this reinstall?
I have a backup of almost! everything that was on my drive, and have restored my user files, and my profiles for many applications. But where are the PSP settings stored?
Thank you!
Can I restore my PSP X6 user preferences after a reinstall

Re: Can I restore my PSP X6 user preferences after a reinsta
If you have not saved your workspace then you won't be able to restore your PSP settings.
If you did save your workspace then go File -> Workspaces -> Load Workspace
If you haven't, then I suggest you start saving out your workspace just in case. Sometimes the workspace becomes corrupted, and being able to restore the workspace from a file is very handy, not just for reinstalls.
You can also backup and restore the database associated with the manage mode and organizer. Very handy to do every so often.

Re: Can I restore my PSP X6 user preferences after a reinsta
Thank you, that helped a lot. I found many settings (though not all) are restored with the saved workspace, and I had restored from my backup. I forgot to even check for it, since previously my custom workspace was my default on load.
Note that PSP does not rename or otherwise flag the workspace as a default, so the new install does not read your designated default workspace until you go looking & load it. Then you can designate as the default again.
A few other preferences are not saved (launch in edit mode, windows not tabs, etc.) but the saved workspace is a BIG help!
Thanks for the tip to back up the manage DB, but so far I fail to appreciate or use the manage feature. Maybe one day
