CPU will not go above 25%
I have an intel i5 quad core CPU but I can only get PSP X6 to use one of my cores. This means when I'm applying an effect line Brush Strokes I can go to the resource monitor and watch as one core maxes out for 10 seconds and the other three are doing nothing. Is there a way to make PSP X6 use all my cores? This would really speed things up if I could.

You didn't mention if you were using the 32-bit or 64-bit version of X6.

Re: CPU will not go above 25%
Hmmmm! I've checked my speed issues and it seems I have the same problem. (I'm only using 64bit version. Haven't checked the 32 bit version).

Re: CPU will not go above 25%
I ran a test with both the 32 bit version and the 64 bit version and I am getting the same results.

Noticing this same issue as well. Couldn't figure out why PSP X6 felt so..."slow" but this would def. explain it

Re: CPU will not go above 25%
Is there any real way to submit a bug report to Corel about this? Looking at their support page I can't figure it out (not even counting the hour plus I spent with a customer at my store today trying to figure out a Wordperfect issue which support contact options are a joke about)

Re: CPU will not go above 25%
I suspect that when the call was made from people for a 64 bit version , they hoped for huge speed improvements. Perhaps we should have been calling for real multicore suport which I think could give much faster performance than the switch to 64 bit.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

With 64 bit i hoped for support for larger panorama pictures.
It's just weird that i can open gigapixel pictures with free programs but not with a program i payed for.

Re: CPU will not go above 25%
So, I decided to do another little test and I think PSP X6 is multi-threading it just doesn't seem to be doing it very efficiently. Here I created a 20kx20k pixel file and then attempted to use the oil brush tool (didn't actually paint anything as I have no idea yet how the tool works) but in the screen shot you can clearly see four of my "eight" (FX-8150 has eight cores but they're not true dedicated cores but steps up from hyperthreading on Intel) have lit up. Only thing running in the background was Firefox and Trillian
EDIT: This does make some sense as only certain operations really will benefit from being spread across multiple cores. Some will actually benefit more from single threading performance on one core. Really, we'd have to test it across a range of operations and filters to figure out whats going on but something doesn't "feel" right with it
