imported video but playback is blank green image

Hey guys, so I imported a video (its an MTS file), and when i do the playback project option all that plays is a blank green image with no audio (unless i play the split audio as separate 'clip playback'). Any help?

I am sorry but you will have to give a lot more information to really understand what you are doing or trying to do.
Imported from where? What do you mean by "playback project option"? Are you referring to the "play project" otion in the preview window?
What are you doing with the audio and why?

Please right click on the mts file in the timeline (or library window of VS) and copy ALL its properties here please, or take a screen grab of the Properties box and upload it here... Most MTS uses Dolby audio, either stereo or 5.1. But what do your project properties say for Audio?

Yes i'm referring to the play project option. I'm also using Videostudio x4. I posted an image of the blank green image that plays when i playback the mts video. I uploaded the video from my computer which I uploaded from my video camera. The audio which isnt playing is just the audio from the unedited video.

Have you installed all service packs for X4

If you receive an error similar to “ Version cannot be determined”
Then the SP has already been installed, just the wording that is incorrect

Note:- I am having problems accessing the Corel Guide to view the serial number?
Alt + F4 to close the window?

Well yes, unless you have already installed / downloaded them, they are about 15 Mb

The packs are called:-
VSProX4_SP1.exe
VSProX4_SP2.exe
VSProX4_SP3.exe

They will be saved to a folder somewhere here:-
C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads

Not sure which folder, but would save a download, if you find the files I would assume they have been installed.

You may have to show hidden files and folders to view these locations?????

ok so i downloaded the patches and the green image issue is resolved, but there is still no audio from the video when i do play project

To be honest I don’t know why this should happen the properties you give look quite normal. Are you able to provide a sample so we can try on our pc’s, upload to one of the sharing sites.

I don’t have windows 8 so cannot check the video like for like, I assume VS X4 is supported by Windows 7.
Maybe try the latest trial version to see if that performs better.?

Corel do recommend installing a Codec pack K-Lite when having problems with HD,
Search the Knowledge Base
I have to say not recommended by many, but I have installed without problems.
Maybe worth a try?

For anyone having a similar problem, I resolved the issue by going to Settings---then Enable Surround.
