How to Move/Reinstall PSP X2 on a New Computer

Post by mitchgf »

Years ago, I upgraded to Corel PSP X2 when I was offered an upgrade offer from Corel. I purchased the software download option. Now, years later, I have a new computer and I would like to install PSP X2 on the new computer before formatting the hard drive on the old computer and disposing of it. Corel PSP X2 provides me all the function I need and I don't feel I need to upgrade to the newer versions. I downloaded the install files from the original e-mail I received from Corel when I purchased PSP X2 and used the SN I was provided. It installed OK, but when I close it, it opens a window that says I have xx days left on my trial. In reading info on the web, it appears when Corel activates the software from the download that it associates the software/activation with the hardware/computer on which it was initially installed. It also appears that possibly the only way to activate the software on the new computer is to purchase tech support time from Corel, starting at $19.99. Am I correct in my statements, or does someone know a way for me to reinstall? If tech support is my only option, then I am very disappointed that the only way I can continue to use a product I purchased is to essentially buy it again. This will definitely discourage me from looking at Corel products in the future.
