Can't Uninstall or Install

Y'all:

Somehow or another, Corel Video Studio was interrupted in the middle of installing. Now when I run the installer, it tries to uninstall, but then it says the uninstall is only valid for installed products. It won't attempt to install at all. I've tried running the cleanup tool from 2010 (is there a more recent one???), and I tried going through the process of clearing out the registry entries --the registry appears to be clean, the directories are deleted, Video Studio is not listed in the control panel as an uninstallable program, and yet it still won't install.

Any ideas?

P.S. -- I would contact support, but they want $20 just to talk to them --which is really silly, given this is a software error, rather than something I'm having problems doing within the program. That Corel charges for reactivation on a new machine makes me think it's time to move to something else --if $20 means that much to the company, then they are clearly in serious financial trouble, and it's time to move to something by a company that's not on the verge of failing.
