I love using Smart Proxy, it really speeds up when I am scrolling with the thumbwheel, I assume this is the best method for the files I use. I capture tape directly from camera to the below specs:

Smart Proxy file not recognizing after move?
Any way to relink proxy files after I move the folder they reside in? Once I complete a project (or lets say I think I have completed) I move the folder to an external drive. If I decide to bring back to my laptop, the proxy files are no longer recognized and I need to re-proxy them which takes lots of time. I am looking for a workflow that will allow me to move them on and off the laptop without requiring the need to re-proxy them.
