I have just purchased Video Studio Pro 6. The last version I had was X2 which I used very successfully. I am editing a video and am trying to put titles on my clips. I have clicked on "open subtitle file" but this does not seem to be what I require and I cannot click on any of the other options such as single title and multiple title. How do I come out of this as I do not want to use it at the moment?
Many thanks
Charlotte

to get out of the subtitle editor simply click cancel in the editor and then delete the block which it puts in the audio track of the timeline
X6 puts titles on clips in almost exactly the same way as X2 did - it's just the way you access them is slightly different - subtitles are something different and are not what you want.
click on the large 'T' just to the right of the preview screen and then double click in the preview screen to type your title - the title will appear at the position of the timeline cursor which may be over a video a still image or a colour block.
or if you want to use one of the pre-made titles again click on the Large 'T' to the right of the preview screen then drag a title down to the timeline.

Re: Titles on clips.
Many thanks for this advice. I really appreciate it. I have another query. I have taken a video clip but there is a loud noise in the background. Is it possible to eliminate this noise while editing the clip?

Re: Titles on clips.
Depends - Videostudio does not have a very good audio editor but you can do a number of things to eliminate or at least reduce the noise.
If the noise takes up the whole of the clip OR you can cut the video (using the scissor tool) either side of the noise then RIGHT click over that clip and from the pop out choose "mute" that will silence the whole clip (or segment you cut)
Failing that you can "Rubber Band" the sound at the point of noise - that is use the audio editor and put a 'V' in the volume bar right at the noise point - it will also unfortunately mute any other noise at that point but with a little experimentation you can make the cut off short and not lose the rest of the sound for to long.
it will also help disguise the silent gap if you spread some background music (in an audio track) along the whole clip
