Vitascene Transitions and X6U

I have both 64bit and 32bit, but I only installed the 32bit version since Pinnacle and Corel are basically 32bit.
Vitascene shows up in the proper folders and only shows up in FX. I reinstalled from a new download of both the program and bonus content with the same results, except that it has trashed Pinnacle with Vitascene.

Well I have had quite a lot of issues in installing ProDad vitascene V2

I have Video Studio X4, X5, and 6 installed all working with the Corel Prodad plugin
I reinstalled X6 to completely remove the plugins
Installed Prodad Vitascene trial, the installer prompts me to choose the three Corel Programs
I decide to install to all, that caused an error as X4 already had ProDad

I then cleaned X4 and X5 of the Vitascene files and installed Prodad again.
Only X6 received the new files, and indeed worked ok. X4 and 5 not so good.

I can add Corels version of the Vitascene and things work
Adding the trial prodad files caused VS 4 to crash, eventually it came to life, ???????

Anyway X5 still has no Prodad, unless I add it manually.

I am now trying to uninstall ProDad trial. Then I will purge X4, X5 and 6 of vitascene and try a new Trial install

But clearly there is some conflict in installing both versions, Corels files and ProDad files.
I think we have to uninstall all Prodad from all programs before trying to install.

One or the other prodad Or corel version, not mixed

Oh and there was some difference in the files properties relating to security and User permissions
maybe an issue but need to recheck that?

After installing X6 with all it's plugins, I started up Pinnacle Studio 16U and 17U to see if the Vitascene install in VSP affected it. And it did. When I tried to use Vitascene in PS16/17U, it said it was for X4-X6U. It had overwritten those files. Not a good thing at all. Especially if you have more than one editor that uses the same plugins.
I had to reinstall V2 and uncheck X6 so it would not install there. All is well with Pinnacle. It did not affect VSP at all, and the same issue still exists for me. No Vitascene transitions.
Another email from Corel suggested deleting the AppData Roaming, which I had done initially, and still no success.
It is not like the other features so far have not worked. It isn't the end of the editing world for me. Just a little disappointed.
Now... when is X7 coming out?

I purged everything connected with NLE's and ProDAD from my computer, ran CCleaner, then checked the whole system to make sure there were no remnants left.

First I reinstalled VSX5 and bonus pack, whilst everything appears to be in the correct location, the Vitascene transition did not appear in the ProDAD folder of the Transitions library, neither did it appear in the "All" category.

Uninstalled VSX5, again ran CCleaner, then reinstalled VSX6 and bonus pack, same result no Vitascene transition.

If it is a conflict somewhere, which I cannot understand how it could be, why just that one transition, everything else with Vitascene works correctly.
I get the feeling that Corel have no idea on how to fix this issue, surely there must be more users with this issue, not just myself and TonyP

TonyP, don't get your hopes up, if it doesn't work in X5 or X6, it's highly probable that it's not going to work in X7

Next course of action for me is to contact ProDAD, see if they can help, not sure what kind of response I get (if any) seeing as it is a plugin and not a fully paid for program.

Simply to add that I am also running with same exact problems ,I am running VS X6 Ultimate purchased online ,as an administrator ,all files are in the appropriate folder
I am working with Windows 8.1
Strange that it is working under Windows XP

I have uninstall and re-installed with no results.

I have no ProDad transitions

Yet I do have access to Vitascene 2.0 under FX.

I agree that this should be the case ... but (and there's usually a "but"!) ... that might be only possible if they can replicate the problem and therefore see what might be causing it. Don't forget that some of us here have the full Vitascene transitions (including me), yet I did nothing special to achieve that. And that is under Windows 7 Home, not just XP.

I am pretty computer savy. I've figured out most problems that occur on my computer. I also beta test software so am very familiar with it working on one system and not another. Everyone's computer is different. From hardware and installed software, to maintenance.
But (that word again) if there are others with this problem, then, I would have to say, it is a problem. Those of us that have this problem have 3 totally different computers and software installed.
And while I can see the plugin is installed where it should be (and that usually solves the problem), it just does not appear in Transitions.
It didn't in X5U, but did in X4U.
As I said, it is not the end of the editing world for me. I use the tools that I have to do what I need to get done.
I replied back to Tech Support and see what they can come up with next. Maybe, just maybe a solution. Other than this particular problem, X6U works, so I am not throwing out the baby with the bath water.

@Robert, I am sure that there are others out there, but there is no way to number "us". As I posted above, I have other NLE's that I use, with Pinnacle Studio 16U being the first choice. And yes Vitascene works in both FX and transitions. VSP has always been a close second, while PD12Ultra is really only used for multicam shoots. Once either VSP or PS get that, good bye PD (which I can't for the life of me figure out why it is so highly regarded).

Just downloaded and installed the demo version of Vitascene 2 and installed into Premiere Elements 12 and it is fully functional, the transition is available and usable.

So why is it not functional in the Corel version of Vitascene, some form of conflict? but with what!!!

Hi

I have run several tests installing the trial version in an attempt to replicate your problems with mixed results.

The vitascene downloaded file when run created an installation .exe giving me the option to save, which I did. The first installation showed the corel products x4, x5 and x6.
For subsequent tests I used that file again saving time in the extraction process, however no choices for installed corel products, and obviously no plug-ins installed.

Today is another day, I purged all programs of Vitascene
Installed X6 Vitascene from corel files, which worked ok

Then installed Vitascene trial from the original download allowing the extraction to complete, The installation process showed the file locations of the vft and vfx plugins
and Corel products were recognised, now all programs had Vitascene.

X4 and 5 are the trial and X6 from Corel.
Now I install X5 Corel plug over the trial, no problems, transitions still available.

When I run Vitascene Trial from the desktop I see this warning, seems to make sense as I only installed to x4 and x5.

I only have corel editing programs installed so wondered if any conflict was between the other editors you have installed?

Update

I have now un-installed the Vitascene trial version.

Interestingly the filters and transitions have been removed from X4, X5 and X6 yet the ProDad category still shows, empty of course.

I reset X5 by deleting the 15.0 folder, ProDad removed. Now I get an error regarding Vitascene, cannot load support – library, I assume that is the proDad category

I re-installed Vitascene from the Corel X5 bonus files/disc
X5 now showing ProDad Vitascene transition and FX filter.

X6, now shows the Vitascene, strange as it was not available earlier and I have done nothing to change that.

X4 will not launch, closed using Task Manager, second attempt started ok.
Now I see Vitascene, yet again have not installed from Corel.

Only X5 vitascene was installed.

Totally confused?

But all seems to be working now, as when I started?

The trial version of Vitascene V2 64 bit works perfectly in Premiere Elements 12 with both FX filter and transition.

Downloaded the trial of Vitascene V2 32 bit, uninstalled the Corel version from VSX6, then installed the 32 bit trial version, same result, whilst Vitascene is available under FX filters, the Vitascene Transition is conspicuous by its absence.

Still cannot comprehend how it could possibly be a conflict between the 2 NLEs, Premiere Elements is 64 bit and VSX6 is 32 bit and from what I can determine the Vitascene files for each are in different locations and, if it is a conflict, why just the Vitascene Transition.

Update.
Since installing the 32 bit trial version, I can no longer use the 64 bit trial version in PRE12, I now get the same license warning as Trevor indicated above, strange behavior for trial versions

Hi Robert

By conflict I was referring to installing the trial or purchased version of Vitascene and also the files provided by the Corel Bonus pack. Or indeed copying the files from one VS version to another.

To make things work I can only install one or the other but not both.

Installing both gives a variety of errors depending on the order used in installing the files. Then cleansing the two installs files may take a while, for VS resetting by renaming the Folder 16.0 may be required.
Having three VS versions took time to cleanse

Also installing the Corel Plugins should be done via the bonus programs splash screen not browsing to find the Vitascene folders.

The Vitascene files may well be in a different location, but I can remove them and still see the ProDad catogary (sometimes) so some other files is also involved.???

By the way I don’t think have any problems with the FX filter just the Transitions/ProDad?

well things go from worse to worse, I can see the Vitascene transition but cannot use it, that Licence error pops up when I try to customise, same for FX Filter
and I don't have the trial installed?
Back to the drawing board.

I am heading out of town for a few days, so no internet for me. I was going to try and install X5U again and see if it works there, but it seems the Vitascene version in all of the X4-6 are all from X4, where it worked fine.

I am waiting to hear from Corel tech again. Why it does not "see" it escapes me. The proper files are in the proper locations, so it should work. Packing bags now and will look in when I get back later in the week.

I am not pulling my hair out over this. Everything else seems to work just fine. I also will be installing some NewBlueFX so which also has some nice transitions (the Light Blends). But most of my work are cuts, cross dissolves, and fades. Not much "cheese" in my video diet.

Why VSX6 does not recognize that the files are all correctly located is curious, something missing somewhere.

Corel have "seen" the problem, they have accessed my computer and confirmed that all the relevant files are in the correct locations and confirmed that the Vitascene Transition does not appear in the ProDAD or the "All" category of the Transitions Library. As Ken stated in an earlier post, unless they can actually reproduce the problem themselves it is going to be almost impossible to find a solution.

I have contacted ProDAD direct and am waiting for a response, if any.Will keep you posted of any further developments.

I contacted ProDAD support and they advise that they have passed the issue to their Engineering Dept. for investigation and will get back to me asap.

I wonder what the chances of that happening are.
