Corel spent an hour trying to isolate the problem with the missing transition, but to no avail, they have gone back to the drawing board to review the situation. they will get back to me if they can find a solution. Give Tech Support credit, they are trying hard to fix the problem

If you purchased the stand-alone version of Vitascene 2.0, rather than having the plug-in which goes with the installation of VS 16, then I suspect you will find it does not necessarily work with VS. As I understand it, pro-DAD has a separate licence agreement with Corel for the plug-in they provide which is meant to work specifically with VS X6...
I have a ticket with Corel on this problem. I fully understand that Vitascene and Corel have a licensing agreement. My problem is that Vitascene is not showing up in the Transition>proDAD folder to even be selected. There is nothing there. Vitascene does show up in the FX folder to be selected. So, as a lark, I have Vitascene v2 that I use in another NLE that I got from proDAD. If you go to proDAD's website, Vitascene is compatible with X6, so my licensed version should install. It doesn't. Even when I select the appropriate vft_plug folder and see it there, nothing. I've tried installing the plugin from the Bonus plugin installer, and nothing.
Then, I get a reply from tech saying something about a one time installation issue. I do consider this an installation issue. And that I am not getting what was paid for.
I will continue to dialog with Corel and see what happens.
If you do a search on their website and use the words vitascene transitions, you will see X6Ultimate come up. That is what I have, but without the Vitascene transitions.

Have you tried the following: go to C:\Users\[Your Name]\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Video Studio Pro and rename the folder 16.0 to 16.OLD. Then restart VS. It should rebuild that folder and in doing so will often include transitions and filters that it did not include previously.

Yes Ken, I did try again. This time, the folder for proDAD is not even listed in the Transitions drop down menu. I tried reinstalling Vitascene again to no success.

Well, contacting Corel Support was a complete and absolute waste of time.

After their efforts trying to rectify the problem by remotely accessing my computer to no avail, I have been waiting for further instructions from Corel.

On 21/12/2013 I received an automated email stating that the case would be closed if I did not respond within 5 days. I immediately replied advising them that I was still waiting for further advice from Support. They responded stating that I could ignore that email and advised that Corel Support would be closed over the Christmas period, today I received another email stating that the case has been closed because it has been inactive for 10 days. When I log onto my Support Cases, I no longer have the option to reply, so that's it, dead in the water.
I can no longer contact Support because we are only allowed one support ticket during the 30 day warranty period, the email did state that if I still needed assistance I could open a new support case and a Corel representative would be happy to assist. That can only happen if I am prepared to PAY for the privilege.

So, after all that, I still do not have the Vitascene transition

I too received an email saying that if I did not respond, the case would be closed. So I did. I know about the Christmas/New Years vacations, but replied anyway so that I have dated emails as proof.
So far, they told me to uninstall X4, 5, and 6U completely.
I did just that. I used Revo Uninstaller to uninstall everything. Then ran Ccleaner to make sure the registry was empty. It wasn't. Several hundred invalid entries. Cleaned the registry and restarted the computer.
Installed only X6U. Installed bonus material. Ran the program and still, the proDAD transition folder was empty. In the FX, Vitascene is there along with all additional bonus content.
I then checked the C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X6\vft_plug directory to make sure that Vitascene was installed. proDADVitascene20Corel4.vft was installed.
Tech sent me another file to install in the directory, but in the end, it was the same one, and the results were the same. Nothing showing in the transitions.
So, since I have Vitascene V2 from proDAD, I tried installing it. I have it for my other editor, Pinnacle Studio 16/17U (another Corel brand. I use this editor far more than anything else in my editing arsenal with VSP second. PD12, if it weren't for multicam, I would not even bother). It found X6U and asked it I wanted to install both transitions and filters. I chose only transitions. Completed installation. Open X6U and the same result. Nothing there.

If the Vitascene transitions were cheesy, I would not really care. But they have some stunning transitions that I have used in the past, along with for really nice FX filters.
I am waiting for Corel to get back to me.

Hi Guys

So whats the difference between your system and ours.?

Ken can clearly see the transition and indeed so can I, I have checked X4, X5 and X6 and all shows the Vitascene transition in the Prodad category and the All section

Have you looked in the All category to see if it is available there.?

lata, I don't know the difference between the systems, but Vitascene is not listed either in the proDAD folder of Transitions or when you show all transitions.
I tried your suggestion of run as Admin and XP mode, but that did nothing. I don't know what the problem is. Vitascene is in the correct folder in the X6 directory. Vitascene did work in X4 and showed up in transitions. I don't know what happened this time.
I will uninstall it again, registry clean again, and reinstall again. This problem reminded me of an issue I had with X4U and Graffiti not showing up in FX. I will have to go back in time and see if I can find that post here. It had something to do with installation program or folder.

Hi Guys

A little confused with the reference to VFX and VFT

The VFT plug folder contains FX Filters
The VFX plug is for Transitions.

I am assuming you see the FX Filter VitaScene 2.0
And that the transition Prodad vitascene is missing.

Can you check that you have this file ( vitascen.vfx ) within this folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Pro X6\Vfx_plug

There were some issues with these bonus filters showing in the library, however resetting the program by re-naming the 16.0 folder fixed that.

by the way I have just replicated the issue with the empty ProDad transition library section.

Hello again lata.
With Corel Tech, they sent me a file with these instructions: Please save the attached file, unpack it and then save the unpacked file to C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Pro X6\vft_plug
Now, I looked in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X6\Vfx_plug directory and do see vitascen.vfx
Also, in C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X6\vft_plug folder, I see proDADVitascene20Corel4.vft
So with this info, I assume that everything is installed properly, but while Vitascene does show up in the FX folder and can be used, there is nothing in the Transitions folder.
I am re-downloading X6 and Bonus Content again in case there was something wrong with the downloads.
Thanks for trying to help.

Hi Tony

As you do appear to have the correct files in the correct folders have you reset the program by re-naming the 16.0 folder to 16.0old

C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\16.0

Very strange why it does not show?
Tony Zip your copy of vitascene.vfx to attach to your post and I will try on my pc just to make sure the file is ok.
Maybe tomorrow for me….

I have no idea why Vitascene only shows up in FX and not in Transitions. None.
Later today (I have some website work ahead of me) I will uninstall again and give it another shot. I also redownloaded the program.
What gets me is that even when using a stand alone version of Vitascene V2, it will find the X6 Transitions and install, but that too fails.
Vitascene did work in X4U, but with X5U, it didn't show. All existence of VideoStudio will be removed. Everything else works except Vitascene Transitions. I still have an open ticket with Corel Support and see what they come up with that is escaping me at the moment.
Again, thanks for your help.

Just did another reinstall, and it is still not showing. I have run out of ideas.

Hi Tony

It must be a conflict between the VS plugin and the stand alone Vitascene V2

Time to re-install X6 and download the Vitascene V2 trial.

See if I can make it work?

When you purchased Vitascene did you get the 64 bit or 32 bit version, as Video Studio X6 is 32bit?
