PI has gone haywire

i use PI 10 and just recently it has started to do a few strange things. i sorted out previous problems but now if i open a ufo i dont get the marching ants around it when i select it. .. i can still do what ever it is i want to do but it makes it kinda difficult to actually know that i have selected it.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled PI so many times thinking maybe something was corrupt but it keeps right on happening.

anybody have any ideas on this one please? any help most appreciated

If you first open a UFO and click on the image but have no objects in the image there will be no marching ants. To select the image as a whole you must go to the command Menu named Selection and click on All to select the whole image. Or, right click the mouse and on the Menu Dialog List select item named All.

If you are saying that you can not select any objects with the display of the marching ants, you may have changed the Mode Selection feature from regular to + or – and forgot to change it back to the first choice a box that looks like a square with marching ants and a small triangle in the lower right hand corner.

Otherwise you may have a damaged installation. If so, you can uninstall, then delete the two Ulead System Folders and all contents, turn off your Anti-virus and any other programs running in the background and reinstall.

hey keenart thanx for ur reply

i checked the mode i had and it was on normal so it wasn't that
then i did the uninstall yet again thru add/remove programs... deleted all things Ulead from the registry... turned off my antivirus and reinstalled PI and now its working perfectly.
on other uninstalls i did of PI i didnt go thru the registry so must have had a bug in there i guess.
