Audio disappears when burning to DVD

Post by revmatthew »

I've done a little searching here: sorry if this has been handled.
I use DVD movie factory on a win7 pro machine.
When I add a video to a project, the audio on the video disappears.
have I messed up a setting somewhere?
I've tried the drag and drop, the import feature, and put the same clip in several ways. No luck.
Any ideas before I give up on this program would be apprecated.
thanks

Which version of movie factory?
What file type are you importing into it?
Which audio codec is used for this file?
Does the file have a separate audio file which you need to import as well?

To get the Properties of your video, right click on a clip in the MF timeline and select Properties, then make a screen grab of the Properties box and upload it here or manually write out ALL the properties and copy them here, please.

O.K. here goes
Corel DVD Movie Factory SE 7.00.30169.0
with a legit serial number and registered with Corel.
The screen cap should tell the codecs of these little guys.
I notice that on the properties box there is nothing under audio compression. But to be clear, they play with audio just fine on the computer. They are mp4 and avi files .
Is this what you need? I would note that I tried playing them on a not-to-new DVD player. Could age be an issue
thanks guys

Sorry about the blank docs. I did that wrong...apparently.
So I've captured the images of the file properties as JPEG's and hopefully they will upload and help.
I have tried to determine if it's just a particular file, but having now burned 4 DVDs with various shorts and one long video, they are non consistent in not having audio. I am suspicious there is a glitch here that involves not only an audio codec but something else.
When I looked at the properties, the seemed pretty similar, except for that Open DML by the file format of the Opus one.
And the all seem to have a pretty similar Compression.
Size varies though: The Garfield one is pretty small, yet I don't think that's it.
Further ideas are welcome.

The files were ripped off DVD's - which I bought and paid for so I could back them to my hard drive and stream to the TV. Kids wrecked or borrowed the DVD's, I cant' find them. Got some off Torrents, and some off my hard drive. Funny thing is, when I use Corel VideoStudio Pro-ultra, the files can be burned to a DVD just fine. I've made many videos on this machine with this program with slides, and with video shot on various cameras. Works great every time. Just these ones. So, apparently it is the files and the probably corrupt nature of something to do with them. Thanks for the help, but this is likely a dead end. I'll just have to source better video to use.
Thanks
