Unable to load plug-ins

Post by tracyann »

Hi, I've just installed PSPx6, downloaded and installed updates.
I'm using the 64 bit version and it will not load any plug-ins. I've set the file locations etc.

I've been using PSP since version 7, so I'm pretty capable. This is really making me angry though. It's a useless program to me if it won't utilize my Dreamsuite, KPT, Filters Unlimited, Plaid lite, and Muras copies.

Help please??

There are several recent threads here on exactly the same subject. So please do a search and you will find lots of details. The basic response, though, is that if your plug-ins are 32 bit, they won't work in the 64 bit version of SPS -- only the 32 bit version. That is not Corel's fault -- just the nature of the 32 bit beast. You also need to check with the plug-in manufacturers to see if they have 64 bit versions of their software.

Thanks for the reply. I tried using the plug-ins in the 32 versions of PSPx6, and they load fine but when I try to apply the effect the entire PSP crashes.

This purchase was a waste of money for me. I'm very unhappy.

Murahs copies, Dreamsuite, and filters unlimited are the ones that crash, and the ones I use most. :(

I don't have those plug-ins. They work perfectly fine with previous versions of PSP?

I suspect the question should be 'do they work with previous versions of PSP and previous versions of Windows". Win 8 may also be a factor in the current case re the 32 bit version of PSP...
