I have a dual format, dual layer burner from MicroAdvantage that will burn cd's just fine from Windows XP Pro but every time I try to burn with Movie Factory there's an error...
"A generic error has occured. Be sure the drive is ready then try again."
I've applied all the patches but nothing seems to help.
MF3 "Generic Error"
Have you updated the burning engine aside from the patches?

The first thing I tried to burn was a DVD of slide shows. It didn't work. Wasn't the same error but just failed to complete the disk.
Then I tried to burn a CD from an .iso file. That's when I get the error mentioned above.
The reason I think the culprit is Movie Factory is that when I insert a blank disk in the drive and drag files to it's window, WindowsXP can burn them to the CD with no problem. I only get an error in Movie factory.

burning problems
I burned one dvd with approx 30 slides. I have now created a file with 250 slides and when I try to burn the dvd it crashes when trying to "build disc content" I have used all patches and upgrades with no help. This is Movie factory 3.5
