VIDEOSTUDIO PRO X5 Using disc Image files

Post by vinodmehta »

Hi:

I created dvd using VSP projects files and saved also as "create disc image". Now I want to make another dvd using the saved disc image but I can't find it on my PC. I think it is saved as .iso file in a folder. In my search I could find the file but it is in Audio and Video two separate files. I can not open to make dvd. I had labeled with name and date still I can't find it. Pls. advise me how to find these files and create dvd disk. I want to save all my dvd projects disc images in one folder with each project name and date created so I can go to my PC HD and locate it. Also, can I save Blue ray disc projects and make copy later?

If these projects when burned and saved with .iso format then Roxio or any other software can burn the dvd or Blue Ray discs by opening the saved .iso files. Is that correct?

Your help is appreciated.

A search of your computer in Windows Explorer (or My Computer) for *.iso should find all iso files on your computer.

VideoStudio X5 can burn a DVD from an .iso file "Tools >> Burn from Disc Image (iso)"

Please give your posts meaningful titles - if everyone asking a question about VideoStudio X5 calls their post "VideoStudio Pro X5" - we will just have a long list of indistinguishable topics with the same name - I have changed the title of this topic.

I wonder if you made dvd folders rather than an ISO file.
Are these files you refer to FOLDERS?
Video_TS and Audio_TS With the video folder containing .ifo .bup and .vob files the audio folder will most likely be empty.
If so you can burn these direct to a dvd.

If they are files, such as an mpeg video file and an ac-3 audio file you can add these to a new project in VS and then go to share create dvd as normal.

Unfortunately, VS cannot make Blu-Ray ISO files. It will, however, make Blu-Ray folders (BDMV -- the same as you would find on a Blu-Ray disc). You then use a program like Roxio, Nero or the freeware ImgBurn to transfer the folder to an actual Blu-Ray disc.

Oh, and on my set-up, the default location for created ISO files is curiously enough in Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\15.0\Disc Image File\ followed by the ISO name you assigned it...

Hi All:

Thank you for your tips to open .iso files. Because of the size of these files they are Zipped on my computer. I cannot download from my PC to V5 "create disc menu and make disc. It says files format is mismatched. However, Roxio is able to burn it without unzip. I know it is better to save disc image in zip format to save disc drive space. Is there any way to burn it on v5 create disc? Or use Roxio to burn it?

I would like to create disc images for travels or events and each one will have specific file name. There are two places I can save and identify each file with their respective names.

1) Create DVD Folder - It will not allow me to save in this menu because it will over wright on the previous project/file saved and I loose previous projects.
2) Create image - here it will allow me to name file or project name and will be saved in iso format to make disc in future. However, it will be in ZIP format. I have to use Roxio to burn the disc. May be I have to do something in the projects setting before I began a project or file.

Any suggestions how to save each disc image with it's specifice file/folder name to save the disc image?

Regards and once again thank you all.

Some computers will display the .iso file as being a .zip file but that is just because of file association settings and what programmes you have on your computer - it is an iso file really.

You can rename iso files and send them (and the Video_TS folders) any where on your computer so that they will not overwrite any previous files.

I do not understand your reference to importing the iso/zip file into VideoStudio - you do not do that - in fact as you have found out you cannot do that.

Once you have made the iso/zip file then you go to "Tools >> Burn from Disc Image (iso)" and aq new window opens to allow you to browse to the file.
