Hi
I had a lot of trouble installing SP1 for Paintshop Pro X6. To resolve the problem, I uninstalled PSP and downloaded a trial verson.
It finally installed, but when I clicked to log-into the registered membership (upper right hand corner), only a dialogue box would appear with "OK" in it. Nothing else.
When I tried to reinstall PaintShop Pro X6, the installation completed properly, but when I tried to run the program, only an "X" appeared in my taskbar.
I have tried removing PSPx6 and re-installing several times. But I have not been able to resolve this. I have been unable to use the program.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Re: Cannot install PSP x6
There has been lots of chatter on this forum about this problem. I can't remember if some people have found solutions but browsing the threads dealing with this would be a start. http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=52023 has nine pages of postings. Another is http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=52087 with nine posts. If you continue searching I'm sure you will find more. Fortunately I have not had the problem. Good luck.

Thank you, for your links, but I already checked there and was one of the contributors to that stream of posts. Perhaps there was something I missed.
I didn't recall seeing anyone getting the "X" or "OK" problem. I'll check again.
Quite a frustrating problem I must say.

Re: Cannot install PSP x6
Trueblue has posted about a cleanup tool for X6. Could that help to start all over?

Re: Cannot install PSP x6
Thank you very much!
I saw that link but was suspicious about installing it given all the recent concern about ransom-ware rogue applications. (I actually encountered one that my many line of anti-virus applications managed to stop)
I'll try that tool and let you know how it worked.

Re: Cannot install PSP x6
Well, that didn't go over well.
The very second I tried to run that tool "PSPX6_Cleanup_v1.2.zip" my Webroot SecureAnywhere virus scanner reported it was infected with Win32.LocalInfect.2 Can anyone confirm that this file is infected? Or safe?
Until I have confirmation, I don't dare run it.
Thanks!

Re: Cannot install PSP x6
Problem solved.
After running a series of registry cleaners Pointstone Registry Cleaner, System Mechanic, SlimCleaner, CCleaner, I restarted my sytem and reinstalled PPSx6. This time it was successful!
Windows really is troublesome. I hope that Corel might consider producing Linux versions of more of their software. With Linux, no viruses, no firewalls needed, very few system crashes.
