Timeline markers

Post by TonyP »

I use another NLE and VSP X6U. One thing that I would like (or maybe someone can tell me where they are) is timeline markers. Why? I do quite a few videos where the transitions have to be on the beat of the music. I do this with timeline markers that are placed on the 'beat' of the music. I can then move the in and out points of a video or image and it will "snap" to the position of the marker.
Also, I can label these markers, so I can use them to "remind" me of what I want to do between them.
So, am I missing something? Or, if there is a way to do this without markers, I am all ears!
Thanks.

You can insert markers like the little green triangles in the attached image. Just put your mouse pointer at the desired spot carefully into that same space where the markers show and double click. The marker should appear there. Note that these are also chapter markers so you may need to delete them in the burning module if you are inserting other chapter markers there. Note also that you can click and drag these markers to a new spot if you need to change things. And to get rid of one, just click and hold and drag it to above the time scale and release the mouse.

Thanks Ken for the quick reply. I was looking at the chapter markers "doubling" up as timeline markers. A great idea, but, for my VSP 7 requested feature, timeline markers using the "M" key and the ability to "snap" clips to them if need be and give them names or different colors.
Just a "wish"!
Thanks again!

Hi

You can change the markers to use Cue points, these appear as blue triangles.
I doubt if these double as chapter points.

Anyway click the icon far left of the Cue/Chapter Point bar + / - and a down arrow changes the bar Chapter to Cue

THANKS! When I edit to music, that is what I need!
Is there a way to"snap" to that point and are their keyboard commands to move from cue marker to cue marker?

EDIT: Clips do snap to the CUE makers! Now, keyboard shortcut listing for the software would be great. Dragging the mouse all over the place for me isn't fun.

You can also find a .pdf version of the User guide on your computer at C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X6\UserGuide and again the shortcuts are in Appendix A.
