Thank you in advance for any replies.
I am using VS x6 to provide a way to present family photos via slide shows. So far I have had success in doing so through the help of forum participants, Corel Discovery videos and YouTube tutorials.
My problem is that the photos do not "fill the screen:" which I am sure is due to the photos being different sizes to start with. I edit the photos with Corel PSP.
Is there a way to establish the optimum size in the VS project and then resize the photos in PSP for a consistent look in the slide show?

If you are putting the photos in the top video track then actual size is not as important as correct aspect ratio - for a widescreen video crop your videos in a ratio of 16:9 that *could* be 3200 x 1800 or any similar sizes.
if you are putting images in one of the overlay tracks then the same rule applies but you need to check the "use fit-to-screen as default" under the edit tab in preferences.

Hi
Video played on a TV suffers from overscan, some of the detail around the parameter of the image may be lost.
If you crop your images tightly you may find heads being chopped, not that noticeable for landscapes.
Video Studio displays the Safe area when adding clips to the overlay track or creating titles, approximately 10% of your image may suffer. (the hairline rectangle you see on the preview screen)
This can be overcome using the Overlay tracks as images do not have to fill the screen.
Picture in Picture effects work well, and adding two portrait images to the same frames look quite good, better I think then a single image sat in the middle of the widescreen frame.
Anyway , just be aware of Overscan when cropping your images.
Not a problem for pc and internet playback which does not suffer overscan.
