No Serial Number

I received the box version of VideoStudio X6 Ultimate as a gift, but the box was shipped without the serial number. I have other Corel software, so i know exactly what the code looks like and where it's located, so when I say it is not there, it is not there. Unfortunately it is past the return date from the place of purchase (amazon), as it was a gift. I have tried to contact Corel's technical support, but that is only possible if you own a product that has been registered and under their 90 day warranty. I cannot register the software because I have no serial number. Their only other option is to purchase a premium support package for $20 for all post-warranty issues. I really don't feel like paying $20 to fix someone else's error. What should I do?

I understand this may not be the place to ask such questions, but there is no way that I can contact Corel's tech support without paying, which I really do not want to do. And seeing as the phone support has been removed in the US, this is the only way I can speak to another human being. Thanks.

I realise you are aware of the serial number format but this is what my X6 version looks like.

VS16R22-TA7MB33-GYNWPKS-TVSG5VH

Usually the serial number will be on the box, I am not sure if they show on the actual disc?

To be honest I don't know what you can do, the problem is with Amazon and the person that sold the software.
If bought from Corel then you may have some chance.

As far as I know Boxed versions have a dedicated serial number that would only work with one disc.
So for Corel to provide a serial number they may require the disc.

You could try Corel on Facebook, at least you will be talking directly to Corel

Did the box come from Amazon in a sealed cellophane package, and have a manual (and, I think, 3D glasses)? I ask since it is well known that sometimes second hand goods are advertised and sold on Amazon...

In the past, for me at least when I received boxed editions, the SN was on a glued strip on the square envelope which held the actual installation disc.

Just as Ken posted, any serial number for any boxed product I bought from Corel direct (or a store), the SN was always on the envelope containing the product disc. It was never on the Box and especially not on the "outside" of the box.
