Hello all. I am a new user to VideoStudioPro X6. I was looking for a video editing program, and after reading good reviews for VSP x6 I downloaded the trial. It installed and started up the first time fine without any problems. I was able tinker with the program and began to like it.
However, I closed it out to take a break, then came back to it (same day, and hour later) now every time on startup it hangs on the overlayed "Corel Guide" flash intro. The window pops up and allows navigation of the "Corel Guide" and I am able to click-through of the links, but it will not collapse the guide or let me use the actual program at all. I also can not close the program either without using task manager. I am only on day 1 of the 30 day trial. I have attached a screenshot.
My cpu should be able to handle the program without a problem, it is running Win7 64bit, with 16GB Ram, AMD Phenom II x6 Processor, 3.20Ghz
Could anyone please provide assistance? Thanks in advance!
Chris

Re: PEASE HELP! VideoStudioPro frozen on startup
I do not have a solution I am afraid - a number of users seem to be having this problem - we here are of the opinion that there is something wrong on the Corel server but as yet it has not been solved.
you can however continue to use VideoStudio if you press "alt" and F4 on your keyboard together at the same time to close that guide - then you can continue using VideoStudio.

Hi Chris
When you access the guide the windows blue halo timer will show.
Be patient allowing time for this halo to disappear before you press the mouse again.
Uploading the Corel Guide can take a while, it may be that clicking the mouse is interrupting the download?

Hi Lata. I have let the program sit for about 25 minutes and it was still frozen, also with no blue halo timer appearing.
Brian- thanks for the heads up, I will give that a shot when I try to log on later today.

Hi
The Guide will require Flash Player to be able to run correctly.
What version of Flash Player are you using, X6 installs 10.0.12.36
Can you try uninstalling and re-installing Flash or maybe update to the latest version.?

The alt+f4 did the trick.
I believe I am up to date with the latest version of flash, but will double check and try what you've suggested.
