Every so often - about once in 12-15 cold starts - as the boot cycle closes, I get a message box saying a specific vs.......exe file did not start. The message box is as follows:
The file name displayed suggests a VS component, but it might not be. A manual search thru some of the application folders, as well use of the windows search box, does not turn up any file by the indicated name. Nevertheless it is a clearly on the system somewhere and involved in a cold start at least. A warm re-start fixes this (start without error), and the way it happens suggests that a cold boot situation is somehow marginal for this item to start properly.
So, does anyone know the source of this file or know how to find it, if windows search fails?
And if you've experienced it yourself, do you know why it happens?

Re: Start Failure message
I do not think it has anything to do with VisualStudio. A google search on vspdfprsrv.exe seems to indicate that the file is part of Epxert PDF.

Hi David,
vspdfprsrv.exe is a process associated with the software "Expert PDF"created by Visagesoft, I don't think that it is associated with VS but you never know what 3rd party software is included to make the program run.
Sorry unable to help further.

Re: Start Failure message
And indeed it is. I have that product so I can create pdf files from word documents. Handy when writing stuff - how to, procedures etc for students - that they can't modify easily.
I was a bit mystified why it would not search from the windows search box above the start button, but after a bit or hep searching it seems for that (search) to work, the file has to be indexed by windows. Windows says it indexes most files so why this one wasn't I have no idea.
Many thanks for the feedback from everyone.
