DVD burning on X6 Pro

Post by weaver »

Recently I am getting an error message when the X6 starts to burn the DVD.
All procesess before ( multiplexing, VOB generation etc.) are working fine but when the DVD steps into the burn phase there is an error 5.0.0. sometimes it goes several times not. The error has been repeated at least on 3 different computers.
The X6 is working fine. On my computer I did not change anything except recorded new videos for editing.

The only possible solution I have found to error 5.0.0 is outlined here: http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... 000000L49K However, I suspect it will not offer you much joy.

If you choose to create an ISO file or DVD folder of your video, instead of actually burning a disc, does it work? I ask since then you would at least be able to burn the ISO or Folder to disc with third party software (if indeed it is not a hardware problem with your burner drive).

Hi Ken

Thank you.
There are some ideas I will check. My concern is that the burner was working before I had just issues with the subtitles.
Anyway I have my old WXP with MF6+ which works fine, ie. I just need to transfer my files to the second PC

I had this same error using VS X6 Ultimate when trying to burn and render a blu ray disk, despite uninstalling and re installing I still got the same error.
My work around to this was just to create the blu ray folders then use ImageBurn to build and burn an image file, when using ImageBburn ( a free download ) just go to mode/build then add folders, choose UDF as your burning option. Don't worry if you forget to change anything as ImageBurn will hold your hand and advise you if you are doing something wrong.
I have now created 4 blu ray disks this way and each one has worked 100%, I see no reason why the same should not apply to dvd's.

Sometimes it is unbelievable that the sw sold for lot of money has such problems, while the free programs on the same computer work fine. It is a shame for Corel ( and they are not alone.... ).
