Instand Projects - Edit or Remove Text?

Post by SWilent »

Some of the Instant Projects in VideoStudio 6 might be useful if one could remove the "VideoSudio" text from them and maybe even add new text. Is there a way to do that? If not, what are they for?

The instant projects are all fully customisable. To change the text, with the instant project in the timeline, go to the Title timeline (where the text block is) and double click it. The text will appear in the preview screen with a double dash box surrounding it. Put the mouse inside that box anywhere and the mouse becomes a hand. Double left click again and the hand becomes a flashing vertical line and the double dashed box becomes a single dashed box.

You can move the line with the mouse to anywhere in the text, taking care not to click the mouse outside that dashed box. I usually go to the end of the text and then with the left mouse button pressed, I move the mouse back to the beginning of the text to highlight it all, then press Delete. The box will then be empty and you can type new text in it.

Note that you can move the text box around on the screen too by simply left clicking outside the dashed box. This will make it a double dashed box again with coloured dots in the corners and halfway along each side. Simply put the mouse back in the box and single click and hold the button down, then move the box wherever you want.

Thanks you, Ken. I've added new text. Now, how do I get rid of the "VisualStudio"?

I thought I had explained it. When you get to the stage of the single dashed box, the cursor is a vertical line and you can either highlight the whole text ("Video Studio" not "VisualStudio") or else use the backspace key or the delete key to simply delete the letters. You can then add your own text in the same box.

The same thing also applies to the selection of animated titles under T below the Instant Projects button to the right of the preview screen.

Ken, Thanks again for your kind help. I have not been able to select the "VideoStudio" text in the Title. I can select the text box and text that I added and edit it, move it, etc. But no clicking or other action selects the "VideoStudio" text -- it seems to be embedded in the clip.
