Win DVD 11 File Support

I have Windows XP Home, Sp. 3 with all updates. I also have Win DVD 8 and Win DVD 11.

If I play a DVD disk with slides and videos (Memories on TV, for instance) it plays normally with Win DVD 11. However, so that I do not have to carry all my DVDs when I travel, I have all the files on a removable hard drive so I can play them from the file directly by executing the appropriate VIDEO_TS.IFO file. Win DVD 8 does this as well as Windows Media Player. However, Win DVD 11 will not. Apparently Win DVD 11 does not support the IFO file format?? I would prefer to use Win DVD 11.

Can someone suggest a solution?
