X5 vs X6 with regards to KPT Plugin

Post by SUTHNR »

Just got my PSP X6 installed and patched and updated and all...

Question 1) For those of us with 64-bit Windows, is the only reason to have the 32-bit version installed is if you wanna use the plugins?

Question 2) Is the KPT plugin the same for X5 and X6?

I did discover that the NIK plugin that was included with X5 works with X6 32-bit by simply copying the "NIK SOFTWARE" folder from the X5 plugins folder to the 32-bit X6 plugins folder. No such luck with getting it in the 64-bit version... So looks like it'll be a bunch of back-n-forth between versions if I wanna use the plugins. What really sucks is that you can't run both 32-bit and 64-bit at the same time. You at least CAN run both X5 and X6 at the same time.

Yes, you would use the 32-bit version to access any of your older plug-ins that are not made for 64-bit software. The KPT Collection is the same in X5 and X6.

Here's a thread you may want to read through regarding a script fix for Nik. http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=51492

I have the latest version of X6 and many plus ins such as NIK and Topaz now work fine.
Adverts for Corel products when you close PSP don't bother me.
