help with Nik plug in language

Post by JVthePT »

Hello all,
I have just learned how to import the Nik plug ins from PSPX5 to X6 and I'm thrilled to have access to them again, but there's one small problem...... The language that my Nik filters defaults to looks like Chinese and I can't figure out how to fix the problem. The rest of my PSP programs run in English, just Nik in Chinese.
Any solution out there?

The only Nik plugins I have is NikColorEffects Pro 3 and it is behaving properly. The lack of response may indicate no one else has had this problem and knows how to fix it. I've had the language for PSP X6 change to French a few times and each time I fix that by resetting the program - holding the shift key while starting the program. Sometimes I have to do it twice before the prompt appears asking if I want to reset everything to default.

Just a shot in the dark here but do you by chance have a Chinese Language folder and did you mistakenly set it as a file location for your plug-ins?
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

@JVthePT

When you link to the Nik folder from version X5, please choose the EN folder for example. You have linked to the one above and X6 takes the first language that is available (it's Japanese by the way)

Wrong: C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X5\PlugIns
Correct path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X5\PlugIns\EN (or wherever your Niks are installed).
