crop tool dialog box

Whenever I bring up the crop tool I see a dialog box covering part of the image. I never use it. Is there a way to hide or get rid of it?

Of course, please go to "File --> Preferences --> General Program Preferences... --> Transparency and Shading" to uncheck "Enable Floating crop toolbar" option. Then the floating panel in crop tool will not display anymore.

Try File > Preferences > General Program Preferences and select Transparency and Shading. Untick Enable Floating Crop Toolbar will get rid of the choices below / in the bottom of the crop window.
Right click inside the crop area and you can untick the Rule of Thirds.

Thanks! I also unchecked the "automatically display crop rectangle" which I didn't like either.
