Hello, I have downloaded Corel VideoStudio Pro X6 trial on Nov 12, registered and activated. When I try to start the program, it just displays the start up logo, then a system screen then all close and nothing happens.
I'm running windows 7 and I have tried running in compatibility modes XP Sp2 and SP3 but same problem.
The Corel Support sent me over to Tech Support but as it is the trial version, I can not message them.
I've checked the system reqs but I suppose my computer does meet the reqs. Can anyone help with this?

Hello
little bit of confusion here to start with
you say you have registered and activated - that means you paid money - yes ? - so it is no longer a trial you are entitled to the full 30 day free technical support available to all purchasers.
you also say that after the start up screen there is a system screen - what does that say - or look like

Re: VideoStudio Pro X6 not starting
No, I haven't paid but I followed a registration link and I can see the SN. It's still trial.
The system screen appears just for a few secs, not enough to read what it says. It's like the black & white command screen of windows.

Re: VideoStudio Pro X6 not starting
Hi
You can only activate the program by using the activation code provided by Corel after you have purchased the product.
You may be shown the activation window but will be of no use without that code.
In the unlikely event that you have activated the program the details will show when logging into your Corel Account.
Its also a little strange to see the command screen, if that is what you are seeing.
I would re-install the program to see if it will then launch.
If you see the activation window choose to run as a trial, however usually when running / closing the program a window shows you the remaining days of the trial.
But as I say it is pointless trying to activate without first buying the program.
Even then I would uninstall the trial and advise you to install the program from the download links provided after purchase. Unless or course you purchase the boxed version, in which case definitely uninstall the trial.
Ok
When you try to run the trial program do you have an internet connection?
Do you have any plug-ins for Internet Explorer, Browser Manager, Browser Protect and Babylon have caused some problems.
View your Program and Features for those and uninstall.

Re: VideoStudio Pro X6 not starting
Sorry, guess I was mistaken, it was not activation and just registration I guess. The product shows in "Trial Products" of my Corel account.
What I see is the splash start screen of the program, then the command screen comes up for a second or 2, then they both disappear and nothing happens. Wish I could take a screen capture of it but it all happens fast.
When trying to run the program, I do have an internet connection. I don't use Internet Explorer much (FireFox instead) and do not have much plug-ins for it.
Anyhow, I have uninstalled the program and deleted the installation file. Now downloading the installation file (VSX6_Pro_TBYB.exe) back again. Will see what happens and post back here.
Many thanks for your interest and assistance

Re: VideoStudio Pro X6 not starting
Same thing... Nothing has changed.
If there were no other problems like this, I guess something is wrong with my computer that is preventing it to start

Re: VideoStudio Pro X6 not starting
Unfortunately there have been others with a similar issue, we tend to go round in circles in trying to fix this, don’t think we have actually identified any common cause.
Are your windows auto updates upto date?
Go to C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro
Delete the folder 16.0
Try starting VS
Right click icon on desktop and Run as Administrator
Do a search of the Corel Knowledge Base to see if you can find any other causes.
