X3 print preview page dimensions problem

Post by burnz-ron »

I recently purchased an Hewlett Packard deskjet 3052a wireless all-in-one printer of the 3050a j611 series and have run into difficulties when trying to set up the image print preview with this printer using my Corel Photoimpact X3 software. The LETTER size page setting with the all in one printer shows up as 4.3 inches x 11 inches on the Photoimpact X3 print preview screen instead of 8.5 inches x 11 inches for letter sized page with the Corel Photoimpact X3 software. If I change the printer option to my other HP printer.. HP deskjet 4400 series all-in-one, choosing the letter size page option in print preview using Photoimpact X3, the dimensions show up as 8.5 inches x 11 inches... which would leave me to believe the problem lies with the settings on the deskjet 3050a j611 series all-in-one printer.

My question is.. how do I change the print preview settings to maintain a default size of 8.5 inches x 11 inches for letter sized page instead of the 4.3 inches x 11 inches that shows up on my print preview screen when using the HP deskjet 3052a printer with my Corel Photoimpact X3 software? I have not encountered this problem before with other HP printers that I have had.. and I have always used the same Corel Photoimpact X3 software for image editing and printout.. so, it has led me to believe the problem has to be a discrepancy or incompatibility with the HP deskjet 3052a all-in-one printer.. am I mistaken?

As it stands now, I am so frustrated that I am ready to uninstall the deskjet 3052a printer and rely on the HP deskjet 4400 all in one but that denies me the all-in-one's wireless capabilities that I preferred. Hoping someone can solve this issue for me so I can use my HP deskjet 3052a printer with my Corel Photoimpact X3 software..

Hi
and welcome to the forums

It is a little difficult to replicate your print options given that I do not have your printer.

You do seem to have set all the correct print options within X3, but just to check…

From PI X3
File Page Setup _ do they show the correct paper size?
I assume “portrait”

File - Print Preview—adjacent to the printer name is an icon to access the printer properties are those set correctly?
set the print properties to use print preview.

File – Print – Select Printer to recheck printer settings.

Press print should show the Printers Print Preview.

Have you tried to print a standard A4 paper size?

I do not know if X3 has a compatibility issue with your printer.

Have you tried printing from a word document, I assume that prints ok?
copy your document and paste to word

I see there hasn't been any action on this issue for about a year, but I'll try my luck anyway.

I recently purchased an HP 3050A and am having the same problem. I'm in Germany and use A4 paper. I've also tried all the tips given to the original poster.

The problem isn't only the print preview: the real problem is that it prints the same as it appears in the preview.

Here's a screenshot that I hope illustrates the problem. The picture is too big for the forum, so here's the link.

As can be seen, it works fine with my Samsung printer, and it's also OK with my Oki printer (not shown in the screenshot).

Why I believe the problem is with PIX3 and not the printer (driver) is that using the print preview in the graphics program IrfanView (latest version), everything is fine - and so is the printing.

And OK, I know the short answer is "use IrfanView", but I like when things work right.

Thanks for any input.

Hi Joeg

Top left of the preview screen is the Layout Orientation

Place a tick in the Fit to available Space.

Does that help?
