Hi. I was able to create a screenshot with X5 and in my settings I have pictures or images as jpeg. The problem I have is that when I open the saved image it opens up in Corel X5. I don't know what step I missed. It should open in Windows photo gallery. What did I do wrong?

This is not a fault in VideoStudio - or anything you have done wrong in VideoStudio - it is a Windows setting which you need to change.
Go to the image in Windows Explorer and RIGHT click on it - when the pop-out appears scroll down it until you see "Open With" - as you hover over that a new pop-out will appear - move down that and at the bottom should be "choose default program" - click on that - In the new dialogue window choose the programme you want to open it - MAKE SURE "Always use the selected program to open this type of file" is checked and then click the OK - that should solve your problem

I tried it after it happened and it wouldn't open in photo gallery (Windows). I'll give it another try. Thanks for your assistance!

Re: Still image issue with X5
The answer for you may be to do things differently - that is open Windows Media player first - then use "File >>open" to browse to the file and select it.

No...
However I was able to get it another way that I found by accident: After I took a snapshot the image went to my Corel Video Studio Pro folder and when I opened that folder the image was in the 15.0 subfolder.
I will try your suggestions when I use it again. Thanks!!!!

Hi
A little more info—
When you take a snapshot the image file is saved to a folder commonly known as the Working Folder.
You can change the working folder to any of your choosing.
I generally designate a new folder for each project I am working on.
Go to Preferences (F6) General Tab
Taking a Snapshot creates an image file using either the project Properties frame size or the Clip frame size.
These may differ depending on your settings and the video type being used.
Take two snapshots of the same frame, one in Project Playback and one in Clip Playback, compare the difference of the two images, if any……….
