Re: Videostudio X6 smash video quality
Let me rephrase my understanding of your problem:
The source video is 360p;
You then create a 720p video from this source video and you are seen quality you don't like.
If this interpretation is correct, perhaps your expectations are too high. Any program will have to create information not on the 360p source to create 720p. Going the other way would be easy; that is if the source were 720p, creating a 360p should produce pretty equal quality as the source.

...exactly. If the quality isn't there in the beginning, it can't be added later. You might be able to tweak it a little, but the resolution the video will still be the same. Blow it up and it looks worse.

Hi
In addition to the quality 360 v 720 -- I would suspect the “fraps” codec, I don’t think Corel Video Studio supports that format.
Do a search of the forums for similar issues.
You may be best converting your “fraps” to a more editable format, then use the new file in Video Studio.

If you are using FRAPS (and there are several NLE's that don't like those files), you might try converting them using HANDBRAKE, a free converter that uses all the power of your CPU (with me, all 8 cores are maxed). Convert to mpeg4.
