Adding a symbol/object in a title

Post by beanta3 »

I'm trying to make a video where while the video is playing a series of dollar signs are added as if someone is typing. i'm able to do this with just adding a new title with one more dollar sign each title. What I'd like to do then is show the dollar signs being deleted and then a series of red hearts are typed in its place. I can't seem to figure out how to get hearts or any picture/object in a title. Does anyone know how to do this or an easier way to do all of it?

Hello - welcome to the forums

I would say the easiest way to do that would be not to use titles but to make images of your dollar signs and hearts on transparent backgrounds and put them in the overlay track where you can move and change them at will.

alternatively put the dollar signs and hearts on a plain background and use Chroma keying to make the background clear.

Being helpful I have attached a dollar sign and a heart - download and unzip them and put them into overlay tracks to get something like the bottom picture

Does that mean i need to make a picture with one heart, then 2 hearts, then 3 hearts, etc? and they put them in the overlay track in sequence? or is there a way to overlap a new heart so it looks like the number of hearts are growing but its the same heart picture. I'm on Video ProX4.

Thanks for your help. I normally just do simple editing.

that depends on how many hearts you require - X4 only has 6 overlay tracks so if you want 6 or less on screen at the same time then you can use a single heart - if you want more than 6 onscreen at a time then you may need a double or triple heart picture - or use the trial of X6 which has 20 overlay tracks - you can if you want apply different movements to each image so that they move independently around onscreen.

in X4 you could do this :-
